The following is the announcement today from Baseball Manitoba.

COVID-19 Update - June 1

Baseball Manitoba 2020 Season Update

June 1, 2020

Baseball is back!

Baseball Manitoba is proud to announce that the Return to Play Document submitted to the Province has been approved! This news, in conjunction with the Province’s Restoring Safe Services - Phase 2 and local baseball associations commitment to execute the plan means that Phase 1 of Baseball’s Return to Play, sanctioned baseball training may safely resume on June 8, 2020. This includes Rally Cap and Grand Slam Sessions, 11U and above tryouts, practices, clinics and camps for players, coaches, and umpires.

The Phase 2 start date of Baseball Manitoba’s Return to Play plan, which includes competitions has yet to be defined. July 1 is the target date stated in our plan, however that date will be determined in the coming weeks. It is of absolute importance that there are no organized competitions allowed until the Phase 2 start date has been determined and posted.

There are many considerations within the plan which will take time and effort for local baseball volunteers to execute. It is imperative that the baseball community works collectively to deliver programming completely in line with the Return to Play plan that was approved. Over the next few days, Baseball Manitoba will release details of the plan to our members and the public.

The health and safety of people in sport, including players, coaches, umpires, spectators, volunteers, and the public, continues to be of the utmost importance to Baseball Manitoba. We are excited to see baseball resume in Manitoba and will work diligently to keep it a fun, safe environment for our members and the public.

Sincerely,

Jason Miller - Executive Director

Tony Siemens - President
